of Hanami Kennel
Boxers have co-existed in our home since 1975. Our first bitch, fawn with white markings, IVA z Kojca Pręgowanej Olivii come to us on Christmas Eve in 1975. She did not stay With us long time. She died tragically under the wheels of a bus. We experienced a great shock; however we managed to persuade the breeder to repeat the maiting from which IVA came. As a result, on the 21st of December 1976 arrived a brindle bitch SABBA z Kojca Pręgowanej Oliwii, and became the founder of our "Hanami" kennel. A bitch with an amazing character and a good exterior.
The first litter in the Hanami kennel was born on the 11th January 1979. SABBA z Kojca Pręgowanej Oliwii gave birth to 6 puppies. The father was Enrico v.d. Herforder Ring. From this litter, DAISY Hanami, a beautiful bitch, remained with us. Her brother Ch. DAMO Hanami took part in many exhibitions and received many awards. DAISY took part in only one show, the International Exhibition in Krakow where she won the open category and with this, she completed her exhibition career. Her human family was rapidly expanding and 'aunt' DAISY instead of taking part in exhibitions was caring for three children, being a wonderful companion to our three daughters.
Bitch SABBA z Kojca Pręgowanej Oliwii from breeding with Ch. ASTOR v. Asenberg gave us another litter born on the 11th of June 1980. From this 6 puppies litter only one dog Ch. MEGIR Hanami was exhibited and with great success. He won numerous awards on both the Polish and international shows.
Left in kennel "aunt" DAISY never had puppies and after her departure it seemed that we would not be able to continue the SABBA bloodlines. Luckily DAISY's sister, DORNA Hanami gave birth to one litter, and her daughter HUMANA z Kopca Krakusa, on 17th December 1990 gave birth to a brindle bitch who we named THATHER z Kopca Krakusa. This way we obtained the great-granddaughter of our SABBA.
THATHER z Kopca Krakusa was the last boxer from our kennel to have croped ears and docked tail. She was exhibited many times, but without great success. She, however, excelled at the mental tests. She would have certainly been a great mother, however, we were not ready to have a new litter of puppies. THATHER was gifted with an amazing character, and our many years of experience with boxers paid off, in that we could take her everywhere: camping, skiing, ice-skating, boating, keep her with us in hotels. She toured almost all of Europe with us, she never bit anyone not was she ever a victim of another dog's bite. Till the end of her life she loved: playing with dogs, hiking in the mountains, children and people. She ended her life at the age of 12, being in excellent health. She was poisoned by a man who disliked the barking of our neighbour's dog.
The sudden and horrible death of THATHER caused us to immediately search for a replacement boxer bitch. A month after THATHER's death, RAMI Edmontonia, a fawn bitch without white marks arrived in our family. RAMI has a dokt tail but her ears are natural. RAMI Edmontonia and Ch. JURAND Eliotana are the parents of our third litter in the Hanami kennel.
